    Goals / Remit

    Consultant the Field of Automotive Aftermarket . Among others Senior Adviser to CLEPA
    CLEPA represents the official voice for the automotive supplier industry and its aim is to further strengthen the position and promote the common interests of one of the most strategic industries in the European and global economy.
    To serve this purpose CLEPA actively endorses the development of the necessary competitive framework conditions and acts as information network and as the principal negotiation platform between suppliers and institutions.
    CLEPA and its members are firmly committed to win the battle of competitiveness by keeping investing on innovation, safety, environmental protection, social responsibility, sustainable development and sound economic growth.


    CLEPA mission is to defend and to make the most of this endowment of innovative skills and industrial achievements by initiating activities, which stimulate the successful business growth and development of its members and by rising debate on those topics, which directly impact the future of the automotive industry in general and of the supply chain in particular.
    Aftermarket
    Within CLEPA’s different activity fields, the Aftermarket Working Group is a peer group for discussion of aftermarket commercial business and legislative issues and actions. It provides a forum for automotive executives to identify and address strategic issues, share best practices and create practical tools for developing sound business practices in the aftermarket.
    Recent Agenda Topics are:
    •Access to repair information - unequivocal parts identification
    •Block Exemption (MVBER), follow-up compliance
    •Build up working groups of common interest e.g.: brand protection, remanufacturing
    •Current legislation
    •Design/Tooling Rights
    •Industry Standards
    •Recast Directive, Article 31
    Aftermarket executives meet at the CLEPA Aftermarket Forum in Brussels three times a year. Two times a year we meet during the “Business Day” the Trade association and Representatives from Trade Business Organization. We organize in November every year the CLEPA Aftermarket Conference in Brussels with leading figures from Industry, Trade and Policy.
    We also produce as needed the CLEPA Aftermarket Newsflash to inform corporate management about the current important issues.
    The CLEPA staff for the Aftermarket consists of a Senior Adviser and an employee in Brussels at CLEPA offices.
    The Senior Adviser takes the responsibility for the political guidance of the Aftermarket WG. He has his office in Germany and works beside other clients 50% of his capacity for CLEPA.

    Tasks:
    •Being the lobbyist for all relevant issues concerning after market activities for automotive suppliers
    •Assist on all relevant meetings with the commission
    •Keep contact to other stakeholders
    •Organise international meetings
    •Organise yearly aftermarket conference (200 participants)
    •Represent CLEPA aftermarket department at internal and external meetings
    Liaise with stakeholders (EU & industry) to create common actions
    •Inform all aftermarket members about on-going issues
