Red Hat is the world’s leading provider of enterprise open source solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies. We help you standardize across environments, develop cloud-native applications, and integrate, automate, secure, and manage complex environments with award-winning support, training, and consulting services.
On July 9, 2019, Red Hat, Inc. and International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) announced the successful completion of the acquisition of Red Hat by IBM. The transaction was approved by Red Hat's stockholders at a special meeting held on January 16, 2019. As a result of the completion of the acquisition, Red Hat's common stock ceased trading on The New York Stock Exchange before the opening of the market on July 9, 2019.
Red Hat will continue to be led by Jim Whitehurst and its current management team. Whitehurst is joining IBM’s senior management team, reporting to Ginni Rometty. IBM will maintain Red Hat’s headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, its facilities, brands and practices. Red Hat will operate as a distinct unit within IBM and will be reported as part of IBM’s Cloud and Cognitive Software segment.Main EU files targeted
