    Goals / Remit

Technology startups are “born global” by definition as they face tough worldwide competition from the day they launch their business. That is not an easy task, but luckily there are many people willing and able to help grow their startups and businesses into success stories. Qualitative support and sound advice can maximize the success rate of these businesses significantly.

Startups.be: federating the Belgian startup scene

Startups.be joins 75+ organizations actively supporting (starting) tech entrepreneurs, through coaching & training, incubation, acceleration, networking & pitching opportunities, expertise in relevant domains or financing. Through this initiative government agencies, federations, cities, knowledge institutions as well as entrepreneur-for-entrepreneur initiatives and volunteer-driven organizations are joining forces to build the foundation of the next generation knowledge economy.

    Our Mission
We help tech entrepreneurs to be successful by providing quality access to service providers, business partners, customers, and investors.
Through our joint network, we connect startups and technology, create critical mass and international exposure and help develop the entrepreneurial climate.

    Our Goals
    1) Offer tech entrepreneurs easy & qualitative access to all of the supporting instruments, activities, programs and activities throughout Belgium.
    2) Stimulate collaboration & cross fertilization between the different startup supporting actors (coaches, mentors, incubators, accelerators, experts, financiers, etc).
    3) Coordinate and consolidate an international outreach program for Belgian tech entrepreneurs, in close collaboration with the regional enterprise and import/export agencies.

    A One-Stop-Shop for Tech Entrepreneurs
We offer a one-stop-shop to tech entrepreneurs, providing them with qualitative and easy access to all relevant information, contacts, programs and opportunities, through a matchmaking website, a yearly community event and newsletters & social media channels.

Our website and social media not only keep you up to date with the latest industry news and useful information, but also provides a Startup Kit, with all sort of useful information, promotions and special deals on tools, products and services that have a proven track record in making an entrepreneur’s life easier (ranging from legal templates to HR, communication and CRM tools).

    Growing international exposure

Startups.be is launching a Startup Directory that will list all of the Belgian tech talent, providing international exposure through targeted promotion to accelerators, investors, international conferences and journalists all over the world.

In our Go Global programs, we even take Belgium’s brightest tech talent abroad by providing demo, speakers, investment and matchmaking opportunities at the most important tech conferences & tradeshows and the hottest startup cities in the world.

A Leverage for all Startup Supporters

As a matchmaker and fast-growing distribution platform for all information relevant to tech entrepreneurs, Startups.be can offer tangible lead generation to its community of startup supporters as well as lots of brand visibility in the national and international startup scene.

Incubators, accelerators, investors, communities & federations and public agencies can sign up for a yearly matchmaking & promotional package, providing online and offline brand visibility and matchmaking services.

Vendors providing tools, products and services with a proven track record to startups, can sign up for a combination of promotional activities, lead generation and distribution of special deals.

Individual experts & experienced entrepreneurs are welcome to join the community and share their tips and lessons learned. We will gladly provide them with speaker, jury and mentor opportunities, enabling them to help create the next generation of Belgian tech talent.
