Goals / Remit
WMCES serves as a framework for national political foundations linked to member parties of the EPP, with 33 foundations currently members. The Martens Centre takes part in the preparation of EPP programmes and policy documents. It organises seminars and training on EU policies and on the process of European integration.The Centre also contributes to formulating EU and national public policies. It produces research studies and books, policy briefs, and the twice-yearly European View journal. Its research activities are divided into six clusters: party structures and EU institutions, economic and social policies, EU foreign policy, environment and energy, values and religion, and new societal challenges. Through its papers, publication launches, conferences and online activities, the Martens Centre offers a platform for discussion among experts, politicians, policymakers and the European public.

1. Energy Union: the Martens Centre is involved in providing new policies which supports the strategic objective of the Juncker Commission to further develop the Single Energy Market and provide mechanisms capable of dealing with the transformation to an Energy Union in the EU.
2. Capital Markets Union: The Martens Centre is again actively involved in this area by facilitating the discussion about what should be prioritised (and included) in the final proposals to be unveiled by the Commission in late 2015.
3. Juncker Investment Plan: We provide research on the best way forward for the Commission in developing a longer term investment strategy in the EU. A strategy that will build on the initial structures put in place by the Juncker Plan.Address
