Reimbursement of certain specific and actual travel and subsistence expenses received from EU institutions - principally in relation to membership of the Horizon 2020 Transport Advisory Group but also for speaking at workshops and conferences convened by European Commission, Economic & Social Committee, the European Parliament and events organised by governments in connection with European Union policy matters (e.g. TRA 2016 in Poland; TEN-T Days 2016 in Rotterdam, Netherlands).
Christopher Irwin was appointed Head of the UK delegation to the Franco-British Intergovernmental Commission on the Fixed Link by the UK Secretary of State for Transport for a three year period from 17th September 2012 on the advice of the Office of Rail Regulation, renewed for a further three years in 2015. The IGC is the body created under the Treaty of Canterbury to supervise the construction and operation of the Channel Tunnel. It is the National Safety Authority for the Fixed Link. It is expected that these tasks absorb around 70 working days a year, for which he is employed by the ORR at a gross daily rate of £600.Declared lobby clients
