    Goals / Remit

CSR Europe is the leading European business network for Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility. With our corporate members, National Partner Organisations (NPOs), and Associated Partners we unite, inspire and support over 10,000 enterprises at local, European and global level.
We support businesses and industry sectors in their transformation and collaboration towards practical solutions and sustainable growth. We are for systemic change. Following the SDGs, we want to co-build with the European leaders and stakeholders an overarching strategy for a Sustainable Europe 2030.

    Main EU files targeted

Building upon our strong engagement in the EU Multistakeholder Platform on SDGs, we continue to co-build with European policymakers a Sustainable Europe 2030.

Through our European Pact for Sustainable Industry inaugurated in October 2020 in the presence of the Executive Vice President, Frans Timmermans, we are collaborating with Industry Federations and Associations to help make the European Green Deal a success.

CSR Europe is also engaged in a dialogue with the European Commission on the following policies:-

    1. The European Pact for Skills
    2. The forthcoming proposal on Sustainable Corporate Governance and Due Diligence
    3. The revision of the European Directive on Non-Financial Information in the wider context of the EU Strategy on Sustainable Finance

    Other activities

CSR Europe was founded in response to the call by Former President Jacques Delors and the European Business Manifesto Against Social Exclusion in 1995.

As a business network for corporate social responsibility, CSR Europe provides a platform for learning and best practice exchange, facilitates joint projects between companies and stakeholders, and promotes dialogue between European businesses and policymakers on issues related to the role of business in addressing societal challenges.

In October 2010, CSR Europe launched a joint Enterprise 2020 initiative to address societal challenges through collaborative action and shape the business contribution to the European Union’s Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.

Since its launch, Enterprise 2020 has become the reference initiative for the ideal company of the future and forms the umbrella for all CSR Europe activities. In the framework of Enterprise 2020, CSR Europe has launched in 2013 the European Business Campaign on Skills for Jobs to foster employment and workplace innovation. In 2014, CSR Europe has launched the European Business Campaign on Sustainable Living in Cities to enhance business-city collaboration in the area of sustainability.

In 2015, we launched the European Pact for Youth together with DG EMPL, which is a mutual engagement from business and the European Commission to address the skills gap and fight against youth unemployment.

In 2017, CSR Europe has been appointed member of the EC multi-stakeholder platform on the SDGs, supporting the Commission in the implementation of the SDGs in an EU context.
