    Goals / Remit

    DSO Entity is an organisation with an official mandate to work on the development of electricity network codes, as provided by the Electricity Market Regulation (2019/943/EU).

    DSO Entity represents nearly 900 electricity Distribution System Operators (DSOs) members regardless of their size, connecting over 250 million customers in 27 EU Member States. We unite DSOs to deliver a just transition to a CO2-neutral energy system, ensuring security of supply with future-proof network codes and enhanced collaboration between TSOs and DSOs.

    DSO Entity is committed to ensuring balanced representation of electricity DSOs in the European Union. It also commits to being transparent in all its work and providing a platform where members can contribute to drafting network codes, provide neutral expertise and share knowledge.

    Complementary Information

    DSO Entity is in contact with the EU institutions regarding the tasks which fall under the scope of its mandate as provided under the Electricity Market Regulation (2019/943/EU), especially the development of Network Codes and Guidelines, and other mandatory assignments deriving from the EU institutions (see more details under heading 9).

    DSO Entity is also in close interaction with the EU institutions on the implementation and delivery of the mandatory tasks assigned to the association, and, if necessary, on the development of derived legislation. Furthermore, DSO Entity maintains contacts with the EU institutions regarding potential adaptations of existing EU regulations and upcoming legislation relevant to its mandate with a potential impact on the association’s future tasks.

    We have reasonably estimated that 0.4 FTE represents the time and work spent on the activities covered by the Register, including our Secretary General and other key staff members.
