    Goals / Remit

    CELCAA is the European Umbrella representing the profession of trade in agri-commodities and agri-food products to the EU institutions, stakeholders and media.
    CELCAA acts as a platform of exchange between its members, and has the role to educate the EU decision-makers about the role of the trade in the economy.

    Main EU files targeted

    CELCAA is following free trade negotiations, in particular the implementation of EU - Canada CETA agreement, EU-Japan and FTA negotiations such as EU-Mercosur etc. CELCAA is also following all regulatory development covering food, such as official controls; Food Information for Consumers. In addition, CELCAA is interested in Customs matters and transport and logistics issues.

    CELCAA organises two to three annual events - conference, luncheons or round table- at European Parliament or elsewhere. Guests are from Commission, attachés, MEPs, stakeholders. All events are mentioned on the website.

    Other activities

    CELCAA aisbl follows the policy developments in terms of agriculture policy, trade policy and safety of food and consumer protection policy.
    CELCAA has obtained seats from DG AGRI to Civil Dialogue Groups, to represent the trade in these meetings. CELCAA is also invited as experts to the consultative meetings organised by DG SANCO. Celcaa is an observer to the EFSA stakeholders' dialogue. CELCAA finally attends all meetings organised by DG TRADE in the frame of 'civil dialogue group'. CELCAA is a member of the DG TRADE Experts Group.

    CELCAA also closely follow the work done at the European Parliament, in particular in COMAGRI or INTA.
