    Goals / Remit

Established nearly 40 years ago, France Invest brings together venture capital, private equity, infrastructure and private debt teams based in France, as well as the associated professions which support them. Its membership currently counts 365 management firms and 180 associate members.
Private Equity supports a significant portion of employment in France and represents one of the main growth drivers for the French economy.
In 2020, French private equity and infrastructure players invested €23.1 billion in 2,150 companies and infrastructure projects. They raised €23.5 billion from investors, a third of which at international level. In addition to that, private debt players invested €8.1 billion in 209 transactions and raised €7.7 billion. European companies, in particular start-ups and SMEs, are the main recipients of these investments. In 2019, companies backed by French venture capital and private equity created 56,000 jobs.

    Main EU files targeted

France Invest is particularly interested in the development of the Capital Markets Union, the AIFMD review, the ELTIF regulation review, proposals on anti money laundering and terrorist financing, State Aid Rules on Risk finance for SMEs and substainable finance (Disclosure and Taxonomy regulations). We also work on the review of the Solvency directive and the ESAs Regulation as well as DORA and proposals on Insolvency regulations.
