It was established in 1995 and has experienced sustained growth in membership and in turnover to a level of 2 million Euros annually. ISCA has 12 staff members today.
ISCA’s tag line is MOVING PEOPLE. This means we are delivering capacity building and promoting cross-sector collaboration to ultimately increase citizens’ involvement in sport and physical activity.
Or, as stated in the ISCA statutes, ISCA aims to
1. Promote an understanding between people across borders through sports and cultural activities;
2. Stress the view of sport as a bearer of local, regional or national cultural identity and so placing it in the centre of international exchanges of ideas, views and social and cultural expressions;
3. Encourage the broadest possible participation in sporting and cultural activities among all affiliated members.Main EU files targeted

In continuation of this, we aim to contribute to policies in the field of Health, specifically as regards health prevention, health promotion, combating non-communicable diseases, in particular through Health-Enhancing Physical Activity.
More generally, we follow processes in other Union areas of work, if they have connection to the above-mentioned fields, including EU External Actions, citizenship and human rights.Address

Communication activities
ISCA implements several projects with EU funding in the aforementioned fields. These are primarily targeting capacity-building for CSOs, but also promotion of the societal value of grassroots sport more generally. We believe that these projects help inform future EU policies, and readily share outcomes and reports with relevant EU institutions.
