    Goals / Remit

    The Long Distance Fleet Advisory Council (LDAC) is an EU fisheries stakeholder-led body recognised in the CFP Regulation (UE) No 1380/2013 as an organization aiming a European Interest. Its mission is to promote the conservation of marine biodiversity and the sustainable use of fishing resources.

    It has a dedicated mandate to provide non-binding advice to the European Commission and to the EU Member States on matters pertaining to the External Dimension of the CFP, namely:
    * Sustainable Partnership Fisheries Agreements with Third Countries (SFPAs)
    * Regional Fisheries Management Organizations (RFMOs) in which the EU is a contracting party,
    * International Ocean and Fisheries Governance in the High Seas

    It is currently composed by 53 member organisations from 12 EU Member States.
