    Goals / Remit

    Founded in 1990, TEPIS stands for the Polish Society of Sworn and Specialised Translators. Its aims are to enrich and disseminate the knowledge of the art of translation and to represent the interests of professional translators in the cooperation with the Polish government. The TEPIS Society is a member of the International Federation of Translators. Our Society today boasts a membership of some 1000, mainly sworn translators.
    TEPIS is proud to have organized 27 domestic and 6 international seminars since 1990, at which some 650 papers were delivered. The Translegis Publishing co-edits specialist literature for translators and "Lingua Legis", the renowned journal for legal translators. TEPIS is also involved in translators training. It has organized several fora, conferences and meeting devoted to translators training.
