    Communication activities

Forum for the Future of Agriculture:
The Founding Partners, Syngenta and the ELO (European Landowners' Organization), came together in 2008 to create a new, open and inclusive place in Europe where all stakeholders interested in contributing to a more sustainable agriculture system could come together to debate and share knowledge and expertise on how this could be achieved.
The Forum’s Secretariat, under the guidance of the Forum Chairman and the Advisory Council, work with the founding, strategic and supporting partners to achieve the mission of the Forum to contribute to the development of a more sustainable food and agriculture system. The Founding and Strategic Partners also act as a sounding board and provide counsel on thought leadership activities and positions, such as the Call to Action. The Partners also exchange knowledge and expertise on what works on the ground, as well as constructively challenging each other, as well as other stakeholders in their community, to help create a more sustainable food system.

    Sustainability priorities:
More than a decade ago, Syngenta Group was one of the first companies in the industry to launch a plan that served as the organization’s sustainability compass – the Good Growth Plan. Building on the progress we made and the lessons learned, the company launched a new Good Growth Plan in June 2020 which put the urgent fight against climate change and biodiversity loss at the heart of farming’s productive future and the global economic recovery.
Syngenta continues to believe setting clear targets that guide innovation will integrate sustainability throughout the business. To realize this ambition, we have set four sustainability priorities, each with a clear set of targets.
    • Priority 1: Higher yields, lower impact
    • Priority 2: Regenerate soil and nature
    • Priority 3: Improve rural prosperity
    • Priority 4: Sustainable operations
Drawing from three strong levers to put our sustainability priorities into action, Syngenta will embark on this new phase of its sustainability journey. The three levers are:
    • Leveraging the power of innovation
    • Working in partnership with others
    • Establishing a strong tool to steer our portfolio towards increased sustainability

    Land and Soil Management Award:
This award was launched in 2008 by the European Landowners’ Organization (ELO), under the auspices of the European Commission (DG Environment and the Joint Research Centre) and in association with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) of Vienna, Syngenta, as well as the Centre for Soil and Environmental Sciences of the Ljubljana University. Since then, the award jury has selected outstanding achievements throughout the European Union in the field of sustainable soil and land management.
The award rewards land use and soil management practices mitigating soil threats i.e. soil degradation, erosion, reduction of organic matter content, diffuse contamination, and compaction as well as the reduction of soil biodiversity, salinization, sealing, flooding and landslides. In doing so, the award sheds light on outstanding achievements, encouraging new concepts of land and soil protection and their implementation in land management, as well as enhancing awareness about the importance of land and soil functions, in Europe and extended territories.

    26 meetings found. Download meetings

The list below covers meetings with Commissioners/Cabinet members/Directors-general (high-level) Commission meetings published December 2014 to December 2024, and the meetings of Commissioners/Cabinet members/Directors-general and officials holding "management functions" in the Commission published since 1 January 2025. Other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may well have taken place, but the Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. All information below comes from the Commission and not from the registrant.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
