Goals / Remit
BSH Hausgeräte GmbH is the largest manufacturer of home appliances in Europe and one of the leading companies in the sector worldwide. The group was founded in 1967 as a joint venture between Robert Bosch GmbH (Stuttgart) and Siemens AG (Munich). Since the beginning of 2015 BSH exclusively belongs to the Bosch Group. In 2014 it posted annual revenue of about 11,4 billion Euros. Today, BSH operates 43 factories in 13 countries in Europe, the US, Latin America and Asia. Together with a global network of sales and customer service subsidiaries, the BSH family is today made up of nearly 80 companies in around 50 countries, with a total workforce of about 53,000 people.
Within the brand portfolio the main brands are Bosch and Siemens¹. With its eight special brands (Gaggenau, Neff, Thermador, Constructa, Viva, Ufesa, Junker and Zelmer), BSH caters to the individual wishes of consumers. Four regional brands (Balay, Pitsos, Profilo and Coldex) ensure a broad presence in their respective home markets.
The Group’s product portfolio spans the entire spectrum of modern household appliances. It extends from stoves, ovens and extractor hoods to dishwashers, washers and dryers, from refrigerators and freezers to small appliances (Consumer Products) such as vacuum cleaners, coffee machines, electric kettles, irons and hairdryers.
Protecting the environment and the climate has been an integral part of the Group’s corporate strategy for decades. BSH’s energy- and water-saving household appliances make a significant contribution toward conserving resources. The transfer of know-how within the BSH Group serves to set global standards on the environmental protection front too. BSH is committed to the Guidelines on Environmental Protection the principle of sustainability, and thus to the responsible handling of resources.
Sustainable corporate governance must take into account the regulatory, ethical and sociopolitical requirements of policy makers and society and strike a balance between these and the company’s goals. Achieving this increasingly calls for a dialogue with government
bodies and NGOs as well as environmental organisations and consumer protection associations. We actively participate in the political debate, and advocate sustainable development and a framework that is conducive to doing business.Main EU files targeted

In our Brussels Office there are two individuals working part time on European Affairs (they are the ones listed under 100% and 75%
Additionally, there are many persons in headquarters and product divisions that get into contact with EU policy and/or legislative issues.
In most of the cases these persons receive information about future legislation and/or collect information needed in the Brussels Bureau or demanded by commission services (such as in public consultations).
Some of these persons are explicitly consulted to draft positions and are thus working in a field covered by the register. The related workload of these persons is however a small fraction of their yearly workload. Thus these persons (de minimis 20% yearly work on register related matters) are not included in the calculation above.Person in charge of EU relations
