Goals / Remit
Climate Alliance is the European network of local authorities committed to the protection of the world's climate. The member cities and municipalities aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at their source. Their allies in this endeavour are the Indigenous Peoples of the rainforests in the Amazon Basin. By joining Climate Alliance, cities and municipalities embrace the voluntary commitments of reducing CO2 emissions by 10 % every five years and halving the per capita emissions by 2030 (from 1990 baseline).
