    Other activities

Our principal activities in 2017/2018 so far were spread across 3 main themes: social entrepreneurship, leadership and peer exchange, and social innovation.

The principal activity of the company continues to be developing, connecting and supporting social entrepreneurs and third sector leaders in Europe, to see a vibrant social enterprise finance market across Europe in 2021 in which the demand and supply side are better matched.

    SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP
EN is initiating the 4-year EaSI strategy. We see social investment as a significant opportunity to empower civil society organisations and social enterprises to drive positive change – we believe this has a financial dimension and a capacity-building dimension. The strategy is built around 4 objectives: 1. Support the implementation of European policies in the social enterprise finance market with a focus on the demand side
; 2. Reinforce the capacity of the network’s members to empower social enterprises to access the social finance market and to repay social finance thanks to sustainable business models; 3. Voice the concerns and expectations of social entrepreneurs and potential future ones, including disadvantaged groups; 4. Provide high-quality data and research on developments on social enterprises finance with a focus on the demand side

EN and its 8 partners organised 135 exchanges for entrepreneurs in 2017-2018 (40 for social entrepreneurs) under the SEEDplus project (Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs).

    LEADERSHIP and PEER EXCHANGES
EN is leading the EU3Leader project (Erasmus+) to develop a European framework of entrepreneurial competences for third sector leaders. Together with 5 partners (academic and practice) and expert leaders from across Europe, we are developing training materials and an online knowledge centre.
EN has so far implemented PeerEx programmes in Kosovo and Poland (building on previous experience in Macedonia and Hungary, both with a focus on women entrepreneurship and social enterprise/CSO leadership.
