    Goals / Remit

Euclid Network is the European network of civil society professionals

Established in 2007 as a joint venture between ACEVO (UK), CJDES (France) and Ideell Arena (Sweden), Euclid Network connects 5000 members and contacts from 31 countries from across Europe for a more innovative, professional and sustainable European civil society.

    Our vision
Innovative and connected civil society at the forefront of European development locally and globally

Civil society includes every third sector organization and social economy enterprise with a public benefit mission. By Europe we mean the country members of the EU, Council of Europe, Union for the Mediterranean and Belarus.

    Our mission
To empower members to be civil society change makers across traditional borders and boundaries

    Unique marks:
    •Individual members (not organisations)
•Focus on the whole civil society/social economy (not a specific issue)
•Focus on the whole Europe and beyond (not Brussels only)

    What we do
Euclid Network focuses on four key programme areas which represent challenges for every civil society professional.

Our programme of work falls under four themes which offer potential value to our members and to society.

    Leadership and Entrepreneurship
To enable individuals to lead and to innovate in their organisations and in society.

    Innovation
To pioneer new solutions and methods for pressing social problems.

    Sustainable financing
To support our members in diversifying their funding, investing and generating income.

    Good governance
To foster governance, within organisations and in society, which is transparent, proportionate, inclusive of different views and responsible in use of resources.

Within these four themes, Euclid Network runs specific projects to strengthen and empower civil society. These projects often take place in specific regions across Europe and are crucial to Euclid Network's regional strategy; tailoring the network to the specific needs of civil society in six core regions:

    •Western Europe
    •Central and Eastern Europe
    •Northern Europe
    •Western Balkans
    •Former Soviet Union
    •Mediterranean

    How we are funded
Euclid Network receives a core grant from the European Commission, DG Education and Culture. We are also funded to run specific projects by the European Commission and the United Nations. Funding also comes from membership fees, partnerships, training and consultancy that Euclid Network offers.
