    Goals / Remit

Global Fashion Agenda is the foremost leadership forum on sustainability in fashion focusing on industry collaboration and public-private cooperation. A non-profit organisation, we mobilise and guide the fashion industry to take bold and urgent action on sustainability. Global Fashion Agenda is behind the annual publications CEO Agenda and Pulse of the Fashion Industry report as well as Copenhagen Fashion Summit, the leading business event on sustainability in fashion, which has been leading this movement for over a decade. In partnership with our Strategic Partners ASOS, BESTSELLER, H&M Group, Kering, Li & Fung, Nike, PVH Corp., Sustainable Apparel Coalition and Target, we spearhead the fashion industry’s journey towards a more sustainable future. We aim namely at 1-advocating for policy developments that incentivise and support industry sustainability efforts;2-raising policy makers’ awareness of the fashion industry’s many sustainability efforts and enhance their perception about how its actions can drive impact.

    Communication activities

Global Fashion Agenda advocates for a policy framework where legislative and policy initiatives incentivise and appropriately support the fashion industry to become sustainable and circular.

A policy brief was developed in 2017 to inform EU policy-makers about the challenges and opportunities for fashion brands in transitioning to a circular fashion system and recommends specific actions for regulators and authorities: http://globalfashionagenda.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/GFA17_Call-to-action_Poluc-brief_FINAL_9May.pdf

Since May 2019, Global Fashion Agenda´s advocacy actions on circular economy are part of the ongoing Policy Hub- circularity for apparel and footwear.

Launched by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) in collaboration with the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI) and Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) it unites the textile industry and its stakeholders to speak in one voice; and to propose policies that accelerate circular practices in the apparel, footwear and textile sectors.

Please visit the Policy Hub´s website for more information about its past events and position papers: https://www.policyhub.org
