    Goals / Remit

Global Fashion Agenda is a non-profit organisation that fosters industry collaboration on sustainability in fashion to drive impact. Its mission is to make sustainability fashion’s first priority by mobilising and guiding the fashion industry to take bold and urgent action on sustainability. Our vision is to accelerate the fashion industry towards a net positive industry for people and the planet. An industry that puts back more into society, the environment, and the global economy than it takes out.

To drive this change and spark action, we’re on a mission to mobilise, inspire, influence and educate all stakeholders.

We have been leading the sustainability movement since 2009 and are behind the renowned international forum on sustainability in fashion, Global Fashion Summit, the Innovation Forum, thought leadership publications including Fashion CEO Agenda and Fashion on Climate and impact programmes including the Circular Fashion Partnership.

    Communication activities

Global Fashion Agenda advocates for a policy framework where legislative and policy initiatives incentivise and appropriately support the fashion industry to urgently become sustainable.

Our policy publications started in 2017 with a policy brief to inform EU policy-makers about the challenges and opportunities for fashion brands in transitioning to a circular fashion system and include many others now such as the Manifesto to Deliver a Circular Economy in Textiles released in May 2019 together with EURATEX, the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry, the International Apparel Federation and the Sustainable Apparel Coalition.

    GFA´s policy events include:
-on 7 July 2020 on the impact of COVID-19 on the EU textile policy with important stakeholder voices as speakers, including Commissioner Sinkevičius.
-on 19 May 2021 on the Policy Gaps & Opportunities related to each of the 5 Fashion CEO Agenda priorities (Respectful and Secure Work Environments, Better Wage Systems, Circular Systems, Efficient Use of Resources and Smart Material Choice).
-Policy roundtables during the Global Fashion Summits (2022: Copenhagen (June) and Singapore (November).

Global Fashion Agenda is a founding member of the Policy Hub- circularity for apparel and footwear. The Policy Hub unites the apparel and footwear industry to speak in one voice and propose policies that accelerate circular practices. Launched in 2019, the Policy Hub has five partner organisations: Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI) and Textiles Exchange (TE). In total, these organisations represent more than 700 apparel & footwear stakeholders including brands, retailers, manufacturers, and NGOs. https://www.policyhub.org
