    Goals / Remit

Global Fashion Agenda is the leading forum for industry collaboration and public-private cooperation on fashion sustainability. Our mission is to make sustainability fashion’s first priority, and to mobilise and guide the fashion industry to take bold and urgent action on sustainability. In partnership with our Strategic Partners, ASOS, BESTSELLER, Fung Group, H&M Group, Kering, NIKE, Inc., PVH Corp., Sustainable Apparel Coalition, and Target, we spearhead the fashion industry’s journey towards a more sustainable future. A non-profit organisation, GFA is behind the leading business event on sustainability in fashion, Copenhagen Fashion Summit, the digital event CFS+ and the Innovation Forum. We also issue key reports such as the the Fashion CEO Agenda: a guide to what every CEO in fashion needs to prioritise to future-proof their company.

    Communication activities

Global Fashion Agenda advocates for a policy framework where legislative and policy initiatives incentivise and appropriately support the fashion industry to urgently become sustainable.

Our policy publications started in 2017 with a policy brief to inform EU policy-makers about the challenges and opportunities for fashion brands in transitioning to a circular fashion system and include many others now such as the Manifesto to Deliver a Circular Economy in Textiles released in May 2019 together with EURATEX, the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry, the International Apparel Federation and the Sustainable Apparel Coalition.

GFA´s policy events include two open events:
1-on 7 July 2020 on the impact of COVID-19 on the EU textile policy with important stakeholder voices as speakers, including Commissioner Sinkevičius and
2-on 19 May 2021 on the Policy Gaps & Opportunities related to each of the 5 Fashion CEO Agenda priorities (Respectful and Secure Work Environments, Better Wage Systems, Circular Systems, Efficient Use of Resources and Smart Material Choice)

Since May 2019, Global Fashion Agenda´s advocacy actions on circular economy are part of the ongoing Policy Hub- circularity for apparel and footwear. Launched by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) in collaboration with the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI), Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), Textile Exchange and ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) it unites the textile industry and its stakeholders to speak in one voice; and to propose policies that accelerate circular practices in the apparel, footwear and textile sectors. Please visit the Policy Hub´s website for more information about its events, position papers and other activities: https://www.policyhub.org
