Communication activities
Global Fashion Agenda advocates for a policy framework where legislative and policy initiatives incentivise and appropriately support the fashion industry to urgently become sustainable.
Our policy publications started in 2017 with a policy brief to inform EU policy-makers about the challenges and opportunities for fashion brands in transitioning to a circular fashion system and include many others now such as the Manifesto to Deliver a Circular Economy in Textiles released in May 2019 together with EURATEX, the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry, the International Apparel Federation and the Sustainable Apparel Coalition.
GFA´s policy events include an open conference on 7 July 2020 on the impact of COVID-19 on the EU textile policy with important stakeholder voices as speakers, including Commissioner Sinkevičius.
Since May 2019, Global Fashion Agenda´s advocacy actions on circular economy are part of the ongoing Policy Hub- circularity for apparel and footwear. Launched by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) in collaboration with the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI) and Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) it unites the textile industry and its stakeholders to speak in one voice; and to propose policies that accelerate circular practices in the apparel, footwear and textile sectors. Please visit the Policy Hub´s website for more information about its events, position papers and other activities: https://www.policyhub.orgOther activities
