Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA is the leader of the Polish natural gas market. Since 2005 PGNiG SA is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange as a part of WIG20, the index of the largest Polish companies.
The Capital Group core business includes:
• exploration and production of natural gas and crude oil fields in Poland, on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and the Norwegian Sea, Pakistan, Libya and since 2019 in the UAE;
• trade (wholesale and retail) in Poland, Germany and other the EU markets
• through its subsidiaries - storage and distribution of gaseous and liquid fuels, as well as
generation of heat and electricity.
PGNiG Capital Group includes: 19 subsidiaries of PGNiG SA and 13 indirect subsidiaries.
PGNiG SA has representative offices in Russia, Belgium, Belarus and Ukraine.Main EU files targeted
Main EU activities include monitoring and analysis of changes in the European Union legislation and other documents, which may affect PGNiG's performance on the European market. In particular: Implementation of 3rd legislative package on internal gas market (i.a. ENTSOG's Network Codes, Gas Directive 2009/73/WE amendment, EC decisions related to competition on gas market, EC exemption decisions) and the Package revision, Energy Infrastructure (i.a. TYNDP, PCI lists, TEN-E Regulation revision), Financial Legislation (i.a. MIFID, EMIR, REMIT, Accounting Directive, NFRD), including Sustainable Finance Package, Energy Taxation Directive, access to finance: Cohesion policy 2021-2027, Connecting Europe Facility, Green Deal Investment Plan (incl. JTF, InvestEU and the EIB financing), Recovery and Resilence Facility and Horizon Europe, European Climate Law, Environmental Legislation (incl. Groundwater Directive; Water Framework Directive; Mining Waste Directive; REACH; IED, Regulation on security of natural gas supplies, EU Emission Trading Scheme regulations review, Fit for 55% package (incl. revision of EED, RED, methane emissions reduction regulation), Mobility package (incl.
